Fourth of July Weekend!!! Local Events!!


The Fourth of July definitely ranks pretty high on our list of favorite holidays! Between the warm weather, time with family and friends, fireworks, and being able to celebrate our independence, it’s pretty hard to beat.

There are always so many things happening on the 4th. You might be wondering whats happening on the 4th, or during the holiday weekend in general. you might be wondering where and what time. or you may already know. but regardless, were going to make your life easier and give you a list of events in our area for this entire weekend!

We categorized the list by city instead of the date of the event(s), so be sure to read through so that you don’t miss out on any of the fun!

Starting in the Lake Jordan/Holtville/Wetumpka Areas:

Lake Jordan HOBO 4th of July Boat Parade will be Saturday, July 3rd at 10:00 am. So bring your boats or get on a friends boat, and get ready for a good time!! You can find more info on this event at: https://www.lakejordanhobo.org/4th-of-july-boat-parade.html

There’s no better way to start this day off than by thanking the one who gives us all true freedom. Am I right? Pastor Jonathan Yarboro will be the Pastor for Sunday’s The Little Chapel at Bonners’s on July 4th at 8:00 am. For more info, visit: https://www.lakejordanhobo.org/little-church-at-bonners.html

In Wetumpka, the annual firework show and celebration will be held on Saturday, July 3rd at 8:30 pm. So bring your lawn chairs and your coolers to Goldstar Park, and help them celebrate.

And last , but certainly not least, Lake Jordan will be lighting up the sky with their annual 4th of July Fireworks Show! They will start Sunday, July 4th at 8:30 pm! To find out more visit: https://www.lakejordanhobo.org/4th-of-july-fireworks-show

Lake Martin Area:

First up, we have the firework show! Claim your spot early and get ready to have some fun! The fireworks start at 9pm on Sunday, July the 4th. For more information on this event visit: http://www.theamponlakemartin.com/events/july-fourth.html

  • ALSO, since you’re here following along with us, you get a little extra information on the band. They will be having a surprise pop up concert to celebrate the 4th on Lake Jordan! You don’t want to miss either one of these events!

Prattville Area:

If you’re looking for some fresh and locally grown produce for your 4th of July grilling, the Prattville Farmers Market will run from 7AM until noon Saturday at the Grove on Doster Road.

In addition to the farmer’s market, there will be a parade starting at 9AM downtown on Saturday morning, featuring grand marshals who are linemen from Alabama Power and the Central Alabama Electric Co-op.

If you find yourself hungry, The Lions Club BBQ lasts from 8AM until 2PM on Saturday at Pratt Park.

On Sunday, you can see fireworks from your car near the Homeplace Clock Tower on Cobbs Ford Road. The show starts “at dark.”

Montgmery Area:

To jump start the weekend, Harriott II Riverboat Social Cruise with Happy Hour: Board tonight (07/02/21) at 6:30 p.m. for a cruise along the Alabama River from 7-9 p.m. You can plan on seeing the city of Montgomery’s fireworks show begins toward the end of your cruise. There will also be live entertainment, concessions, and a cash bar. You will have the option to sit inside, or outside! Ticket prices vary, but it’s sure to be a good time. Montgomery’s baseball team, the Montgomery Biscuits, will be having a firework shows at the stadium following the Saturday and Sunday games that start at 6:05 p.m.

On Sunday, July 4th, there will be the Cloverdale Idlewild Association Independence Day Parade. This is a longtime community tradition in Montgomery. The parade will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. Guests taking part often decorate bikes, wagons, vehicles, pets and themselves in patriotic colors for this family friendly event that you want to be a part of!

Also on Sunday, July 4th, the Harriott II Riverboat will be having a firework cruise! The Fourth of July Cruise boards at 8:30 p.m. from it’s dock at Riverfront Park, and cruises until 11 p.m. If you attend, you can expect live entertainment, concessions, a cash bar, and of course, a great view to the firework show. Indoor and outdoor seating options are available. Adult prices are $25 for inside, $20 for outside. Children are $15. For more information, call 334-625-2100 or visit funinmontgomery.com.

Wind Creek State Park:

If you enjoy camping and the outdoors, Wind Creek has tons of activities going on this weekend. Everything from hikes to karaoke! For more information on the state park’s weekend events you can visit their Facebook page!
